The Sunglass Doctor™ helps reveal which lens will best protect your patient’s eyes by measuring the amount of light a patient can handle without causing stress to the eyes. Some eyes are more sensitive than others. Testing your patient’s solar sensitivity is important when they are selecting a shade for their sunglasses.
The patient stands away from the meter and focuses on the target test pattern. At the point where the test pattern is no longer visible or the light intensity becomes uncomfortable, the patient releases the button. This triggers the meter to provide a percentage density which would be the recommended solar prescription. The patient’s lenses can then be tinted in either your own or your lab’s tinting system and then dispensed.

The Lens Reflectometer™ is the first affordable meter that accurately assesses the quality of an anti-reflection coating by measuring the reflections off both lens surfaces. It is an invaluable aid for quality control of lenses that have received A/R or reflective coatings and features a microprocessor controller that, at a push of a button, calibrates the meter for a 4 percent reflectance. No matter what happens to the intensity of the visible light, auto-calibration is guaranteed because of the meter's circuitry that contains an automatic gain controller stage that accommodates itself to any possible variations in the AC line voltage, as well as to any gradual decay of the intensity of the visible light bulb over long periods of time.
